What Asteroids Tell Us About How the News Works

Recently, I came across these two scary headlines about asteroids below, and of course I clicked. Once you read the articles, you will eventually find out that there is virtually zero risk of either of these asteroids harming us, but I had already clicked.  The news media wins again.

As you consume news, especially this year, remember that clicks = revenue for the media even when it comes at the expense of your sense of comfort.  So, as we make progress toward the election, I will remind you that the drama created by the media will be high.  Be sure that you have an investment process that does not allow your emotions to take over your decision-making during trying times.
