What Can We Expect from the Financial Markets After the Midterm Elections? 

 

In just a few days, the yard signs will start coming down, and the nasty attack ads will cease.  Just that part of the mid-term elections excites me.  As people cast their votes, is there more to be excited about as it relates to the stock market? Quite possibly, yes. In the 19 mid-term elections since 1945, the stock market has been positive 12 months later in 19 out of 19 of those elections with the average gain being 14%.  Why? Because the stock market likes certainty. Many questions will be answered next Tuesday, and investors can focus on other important factors.
