Money Monday!

“Beware of little expenses; a small leak will sink a great ship” – Benjamin Franklin

By trimming unnecessary costs on everything from your daily coffee to the App Store or your next big screen TV, you can plug your “financial leaks” to keep your financial plan on track.  This week, I’ve included three ideas for saving money:

MyPanera+

For our clients who enjoy going out to buy coffee, Panera Bread has a monthly coffee subscription service.  For just $8.99 per month, you can go to a Panera and pour any flavor or size coffee you would like at any time.  Each month, Panera sends you a record of how much you would have spent if you had bought that coffee at full price.  This promotion is clearly intended to attract customers to their store to buy other things. If you can resist, it’s a great way to save money.  If not, you can enjoy your bagel knowing that you paid less for your coffee. Click here for more:

Checking Your App Store Subscriptions

Many of us have used online subscription services only to find out later that we are paying for something we no longer use. It’s a good practice to occasionally check to see what subscriptions you have and how much you are paying.  On an iPhone, just do the following:

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Tap your name
  3. Tap subscriptions
  4. You can tap the subscription you want to manage and cancel it if you choose.
